The Technological Institute for Children’s Products and Leisure (AIJU) was inaugurated in 1985 as a non-profit organisation designed to provide support to the children’s products sector and carry out R&D projects to increase the levels of safety and quality of its products. AIJU currently has around 450 associated companies and a team of more than 80 technical experts specialised in a variety of disciplines related to children’s products and leisure, such as product safety, child consumer behaviour, training, and innovation for the industry.

AIJU is a member of several fora, as well as national and European Committees working in the field of children’s products safety, such as toys, childcare articles and children’s furniture.

The University of Ancona was created in 1969 with the establishment of the Free University of Ancona, and with the activation of the first biennium of the Faculty of Engineering and the biological triennium of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.
The Free University, was definitively recognised as a State University within a very short time, specifically on 18 January 1971.
The Faculty of Economics and Commerce was immediately included and, during the academic year 1988–89, the Faculty of Agriculture was founded (degree in Agricultural Sciences) along with the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences with a degree course in general biology and specialisations in Marine Biology, Oceanography and Biotechnology.
On 18 January 2003, the University of Ancona changed its name to "Università Politecnica delle Marche".
Now the University has five Faculties, 21 different undergraduate degree studies (3 years - first level), 19 graduate degree courses (second level), 3 single-cycle university degrees with limited entry (1 in engineering - 5 years, 1 in medicine & surgery - 6 years and 1 in orthodontics and prosthetics - 6 years), 11 vocational study courses, 29 fields of specialisation, and 10 PhD programmes with their administrative offices in Ancona. The initial student enrolment of 290, for the academic year 1969–70, has progressively increased to 17,000. The teaching staff currently numbers 550 professors, teaching assistants, and researchers, along with 181 temporary staff and 605 technical and administrative personnel.
They are presently grouped together over three main campuses. The science and technology campus is located in Monte Dago, and its buildings boast the monumental and prestigious work designed by Belluschi, an Italian-American architect. This complex houses the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Agriculture, and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences.
A second research and educational complex is located in Torrette for the biological, scientific and clinical needs of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery. The third campus is located in centre of the town in a historic ex-barracks called Caserma Villarey and houses the Faculty of Economics.
In the Faculty of Economics there are 2 Departments. In the DIMA (Department of Management) there are Professors and Researchers of Law, Professors and Researchers of Economics, Professors and Researchers of Mathematics.

The University of Alicante (UA) was created in 1979. Today it educates and trains more than 36,000 students—of which 2,500 are international students—and offers more than 80 undergraduate and 96 postgraduate programmes. The UA houses 227 research groups in Social and Legal Sciences, Experimental Sciences, Technological Sciences, Human Sciences, Education and Health Sciences and 15 Research Institutes. Thus, the UA employs over 2,400 researchers, professors and has a complex management administration structure of 1,300 people.

The software and computing systems department (DLSI) is one of the biggest departments at the UA, employing more than 60 full-time teachers, more than 30 support teachers and 6 staff members. The DLSI belongs to the Polytechnic School and is devoted to research and training on the following topics: software engineering, software development, and multimedia systems including e-learning management systems. The DLSI has carried out several research activities in the fields of software development, usability and accessibility of web sites and web applications, and e-learning over the last 15 years. The department of Sociology at the UA is supporting the DLSI in carrying out this project.

SHH, the Czech Association for Toy and Play represents and brings together the entire toy industry in the Czech Republic, consisting of toy manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, schools, designers and testing laboratories. Today, the association has 140 associates. There are also members of this association: the toy testing laboratories in Zlin, the Toy Museum in Prague, the School of Industrial Art in Prague, and the Faculty of Pedagogy at Charles University.

The goal of the association is that children play with safe toys that contribute positively to developing their personality. In addition, SHH has extensive experience in organising training courses for its members on specific industry issues, such as toy safety and consumer protection.

 

 

ASSOCIAÇÃO PARA A PROMOÇÃO DA SEGURANÇA INFANTIL (APSI)

With more than 25 years’ experience working with Child Safety, the Portuguese Association for Child Safety Promotion works to encourage particular attitudes and practices, as well as the creation of safe environments to guarantee the healthy upbringing of children and young people. Its primary aim is to reduce the number and severity of injuries in these age groups.

APSI is a private non-profit organisation founded in 1992, with the status of public utility. It is a Family Organisation and a Consumer Organisation. It is an opinion leader in terms of water safety, play area and playground safety, passenger safety and child public transport safety, serving as a flagship in the field of child safety in both Portugal and Europe. It is the only entity in Portugal that is exclusively dedicated to the prevention of injuries.
APSI intervene in society through information and communication, research, education and training, and participation in the development of legislation and standardisation.
